David Suzuki.org
Welcome to the Foundation
Since 1990, the David Suzuki Foundation has worked to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us. Focusing on four program areas – oceans and sustainable fishing, climate change and clean energy, sustainability, and the Nature Challenge - the Foundation uses science and education to promote solutions that conserve nature and help achieve sustainability within a generation.

Ema Organization
The Environmental Media Association believes that through television, film and music, the entertainment community has the power to influence the environmental awareness of millions of people. This initial concept set the stage for our 1989 launch and it remains a core EMA tenant today.
EMA mobilizes the entertainment industry in educating people about environmental issues, which in turn, inspires them to take action. A pioneer in linking the power of celebrity to environmental awareness, it was EMA who invented the ‘green carpet,’ launching the concept of taking a hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle - not a limo - to high profile awards events and bringing the concept of alternative automotive technology to millions of previously unaware households.

Santa monica CA
The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy was established by the California State Legislature in 1980. Walden.org
The Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990 by recording artist Don Henley. At that time, sixty percent of Walden Woods - a 2,680 acre ecosystem surrounding Thoreau’s Walden Pond - was already protected from development. However, two large tracts of land were endangered when developers sought to construct an expansive office building and condominium complex in the mid-1980s. These commercial developments posed such a significant threat to the area that the National Trust for Historic Preservation twice listed Walden Woods as one of America’s Eleven Most Endangered Historic Places.
In response, the Walden Woods Project embarked on a national campaign to raise public awareness and the funds necessary to purchase and preserve the endangered areas. In January 1991, the Project bought the 25-acre tract that had been slated for the development of condominiums. A few years later, the second tract of land was acquired at Brister’s Hill.

Leonardo Dicaprio Organization
Established in 1998, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has actively fostered awareness of environmental issues through participation with such organizations as Natural Resources Defense Council, Global Green USA, and the International Fund For Animal Welfare.
The environmental website www.leonardodicaprio.org was created in order to reach, inform and interact directly with a wide global audience about these issues. This site also serves to promote current environmental campaigns, such as the global movement to eliminate the use of Plastic Bags.
Environment Now honored the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation with its prestigious Martin Litton Environmental Warrior Award in 2001.
The Foundation also spearheaded the production of the feature length environmental documentary The 11th Hour. In conjunction with the film, the Foundation helped launch the online network www.11thhouraction.com. This website serves as a forum where individuals and communities can take action in the sustainability movement.

One Percent for the Planet
Keep Earth in Business!
To be perfectly honest, it’s not about us. It’s about businesses recognizing that industry and ecology are inherently connected. It’s about realizing the positive effects of connecting businesses, consumers and nonprofits through philanthropy. And it’s about understanding that the true cost of doing business can be mitigated by a simple pledge to the planet.
Since 2002, 1% For The Planet has inspired members of the business community to contribute 1% of sales to environmental groups around the world. In return, this growing alliance of companies is given the opportunity not only to see their self-worth rise, but their net worth climb as well.

BIONEERS.org
A new word. Founder Kenny Ausubel coined the term Bioneers in 1990 to describe an emerging culture. Bioneers are social and scientific innovators from all walks of life and disciplines who have peered deep into the heart of living systems to understand how nature operates, and to mimic "nature's operating instructions" to serve human ends without harming the web of life. Nature's principles—kinship, cooperation, diversity, symbiosis and cycles of continuous creation absent of waste—can also serve as metaphoric guideposts for organizing an equitable, compassionate and democratic society.
A Leading Source of Innovative Solutions.
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we provide a forum and social hub for education about solutions presented through the Bioneers Conference and our programs. Our media productions leverage this content to reach millions of people around the nation and the world our award-winning radio series, Bioneers: Revolution From the Heart of Nature; anthology book series; television programs; and our interactive website. We act as a key source for the media, including third-party films and the press. Our DVDs, CDs and other educational materials are also used by colleges and schools and by community-based and other organizations to inform and inspire positive change at the local level.
