Tesla’s Semi Trucks

Tesla is producing semi-trucks in 2019. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is releasing this product as a competitor to the lower-cost diesel vehicles. The electric tractors are meant to reduce environmental impact, reduce ownership cost, and improve safety. The steering wheel will be in the center of the car with the ability for the driver to navigate while standing up. Additionally, the semi-trucks can be controlled remotely.

To date, UPS has the highest reserve order of 125 Tesla Semis, followed by Pepsi with an order of 100. Other companies also reserved orders but in smaller quantities are Walmart, JB Hunt Transport Services, and Sysco.
