Jay-Z and Beyonce Go Vegan For 22 Days



Jay-Z and Beyonce have embarked on a 22-day Vegan diet plan. According to Jay-Z’s website announcing their endeavor, they decided on 22 days because someone once said it takes 21 days to break a habit, and on the 22nd day, you’re golden. The purpose of this diet is not only for physical health but also a spiritual cleanse. On his blog, Jay-Z wrote “So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse… I don’t know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We’ll see…” he wrote on his blog.

They started on Dec. 3, a day before Jay-Z’s 44th birthday, after a friend recommended the music mogul try a vegan breakfast every day. Afterall, the number 4 is important to power couple whose Birthdays fall on the 4th, and named their daughter Blue Ivy, containing the Roman Numeral 4.

Going Vegan means eating less meat which is considered better for the environment because raising livestock uses more energy and resources than foods like fruits, grains and vegetables. Advocates for animal rights often choose the diet, as well as individuals who want to eat healthier and lose weight.
