California Signs 19 Renewable Energy Bills

Governor Jerry Brown signed 19 bills on Thursday aimed to provide renewable energy and conserve power in California. However, there is no funding yet for this plan. California is jumping the gun by coming up with a plan first. Brown said, “The health of the environment, job creation and indeed, the security of the nation, depend on how we end America’s dangerous addiction to foreign oil. California and the US military are working together to build a clean energy future and this bill helps make sure it happens.” California will work with the Department of Defense to implement the renewable energy bills.

The bills cover various energy issues. SB1222 seeks to encourage the installation of rooftop solar energy systems on homes by limited residential permit fees charged by cities and counties to the cost of providing the permits. Also, a measure that clarifies facilities that generate electricity using biomethane delivered from other locations qualify as a renewable energy source under the state’s mandate to increase those sources. Such bills are expected to create a new Clean Energy Economy and Jobs Incentive Programs to provide financial help for the manufacturing of clean energy technology. Lets see how these 19 renewable energy bills implementation unfolds.
